Learn through play!

In the last few years we have seen such a trend in childcare, it seem to be geared towards academics and structure. While children need routine and skills we must not forget that they are children. Here at the Itsy bitsy academy we believe that the best way children learn is through play. Our goal is to maintain a balance and guide your children towards learning through play based activities.

While in our care your children will do many activities such as:

•  Art, which includes: painting with brushes, coloring, use of tempera paint, watercolors.
• We will explore science and nature by using the outdoors as our lab, whether it is looking through colored glasses, or picking up snails.
• Our kitchen and drama area will enhance your child’s social skills and retain that childhood innocence that comes with pretend play.
• During circle time we will learn songs, dances and counting games.

We will incorporate structure and academics by doing 45 minutes a day Monday through Thursday of planned Spanish curriculum. During this time your child will learn the basics of Spanish, how to use simple words, count to ten, songs and letters. We will read stories and strive to make every experience a learning and fulfilling one.
